Projects in Progress (August)
Since I’ve been expending so much energy into the video series that I am working on for this blog, there’s a lot of stuff that hasn’t gotten posted lately. This seemed unfair, so I decided to update you all on some things that I have been working on lately.
First off, the video series officially has 4 episodes filmed and 1 episode edited. It looks like they will be ready to roll out on the first Friday in September and be uploaded once a week from there. The first few episodes are definitely rough, but I have refined my process as I’ve gone along and I can say that I feel them getting better. Then again, you’ll be the judge of that!
If you haven’t been following me on Instagram (you should) I am on there as thriftyniftynanny. On there you can stay up to date with my test baking for future episodes of the show and with my crafts that do and don’t make it onto the blog.
This week, I have been working on Halloween decorations. This may seem early, but I am a slow crafter. My first decoration is a Halloween table runner, perfect for a spooky party. I didn’t post instructions here on the blog because I didn’t actually follow any rules. The entire thing is free-handed, sorry!
I am also working on a refining a cupcake recipe for my Halloween episode (you see a theme here?) Yesterday’s batch was an epic flop because they completely fell apart coming out of the oven. Instead of tossing them, I made cake pops out of the crumbs. Sometimes, you work with what you’re given.
I have also ordered some seasonal bakeware that will be featured on my show soon. I’ll post links in the next update about where to order them, in case you decide to bake along with me (just saying, it would be super cool).
So that’s what I have going on now. I will be posting more come September, as I share tips for back to school meals that are easy to lug around and some tips for coping with Seasonal Affective Disorder as we head into the dark season.
I hope that everyone has had their fill of summer, because it looks like it’s going to be an early Fall (yay!)
Until next time,
